श्रीगुरु पद नख मनि गन जोती। सुमिरत दिव्य दृष्टि हियँ होती॥
दलन मोह तम सो सप्रकासू। बड़े भाग उर आवइ जासू॥
śrīguru pada nakha mani gana jotī, sumirata divya dṛṣṭi hiyã hotī |
dalana moha tama so saprakāsū, baṛe bhāga ura āvai jāsū ||
English Rendering
The light that comes from the cluster of jewel-nails on the guru’s foot — the mere memory of it opens a divine sight in the heart. That light is what shatters the darkness of delusion. Great is the good fortune of the one into whose heart it comes.

श्रीगुरु के चरण-नखों की मणिमय ज्योति का स्मरण करते ही हृदय में दिव्य दृष्टि उत्पन्न होती है। वह अज्ञान-अन्धकार को नष्ट करने वाला प्रकाश है; बड़े भाग्य वाला है वह जिसके हृदय में यह प्रकाश उतर आता है।

The third stanza. Tulsīdās moves inward: from the physical dust of the guru’s feet, to the nails, to the light coming from the nails, to the memory of that light, to the divine sight in the heart. Four levels of subtlety inside a single chaupāī.
