भनिति बिचित्र सुकबि कृत जोऊ। राम नाम बिनु सोह न सोऊ॥
बिधुबदनी सब भाँति सँवारी। सोह न बसन बिना बर नारी॥
bhaniti bicitra sukabi kṛta joū, rāma nāma binu soha na soū |
bidhubadanī saba bhā̃ti sãvārī, soha na basana binā bara nārī ||
English Rendering
Even the brilliant composition of a fine poet does not shine without Rāma’s name. A moon-faced woman, ornamented in every way, does not shine if she stands without her garment.

सुकवि की रची विचित्र रचना भी श्रीराम-नाम के बिना शोभा नहीं पाती। पूर्ण चन्द्रमुखी सुन्दरी, चाहे सब आभूषणों से सँवारी गयी हो, बिना वस्त्र के शोभा नहीं देती।
Context — Editorial
The image is deliberately corporeal. Ornaments alone — however elegant — cannot substitute for the one indispensable thing. So it is with any poem: the name of Rāma is not ornament but garment.
