राम चरित सर बिनु अन्हवाएँ। सो श्रम जाइ न कोटि उपाएँ॥
कबि कोबिद अस हृदयँ बिचारी। गावहिं हरि जस कलि मल हारी॥
rāma carita sara binu anhavāeṁ, so śrama jāi na koṭi upāeṁ |
kabi kobida asa hṛdayã bicārī, gāvahiṁ hari jasa kali mala hārī ||
English Rendering
Without a bath in the lake of Rāma’s story, that weariness will not go, though ten million other remedies be tried. Poets and scholars, considering this in their hearts, sing the glory of Hari — the one glory that carries away the filth of the Kali age.

श्रीरामचरित के सरोवर में जब तक सरस्वती स्नान नहीं करती, तब तक उसकी थकान करोड़ों उपायों से भी नहीं जाती। यही अपने हृदय में विचार कर कवि और कोविद हरि के यश को गाते हैं — जो कलियुग के मल को हरने वाला है।
Context — Editorial
The "weariness" is Sarasvatī’s — from being invoked in unworthy poems. Only immersion in the Rāma-story restores her. The verse quietly warns other poets: the same goddess of speech will not bless every subject.
