पुनि बंदउँ सारद सुरसरिता। जुगल पुनीत मनोहर चरिता॥
मज्जन पान पाप हर एका। कहत सुनत एक हर अबिबेका॥
puni baṁdaũ sārada surasaritā, jugala punīta manohara caritā |
majjana pāna pāpa hara ekā, kahata sunata eka hara abibekā ||
English Rendering
Again I bow to Sāradā and Surasaritā (Sarasvatī and Gaṅgā) — a pair, both holy and of enchanting deeds. One removes sin by bathing and drinking; the other, by being spoken and heard, removes ignorance.

फिर मैं शारदा (सरस्वती) और सुरसरिता (गंगा) दोनों की वन्दना करता हूँ — जुगल, पुनीत, मनोहर चरित वाली। एक (गंगा) — स्नान और पान से पाप हरती है; दूसरी (सरस्वती) — कहने और सुनने से अविवेक हरती है।
Context — Editorial
The two rivers held together in a single line. Gaṅgā acts through the body; Sarasvatī through the ear. Their gifts are opposite in medium but identical in effect: both purify.
