बंदउँ अवध पुरी अति पावनि। सरजू सरि कलि कलुष नसावनि॥
प्रनवउँ पुर नर नारि बहोरी। ममता जिन्ह पर प्रभुहि न थोरी॥
baṁdaũ avadha purī ati pāvani, sarajū sari kali kaluṣa nasāvani |
pranavaũ pura nara nāri bahorī, mamatā jinha para prabhuhi na thorī ||
English Rendering
I bow to the exceedingly holy city of Avadha, and to the river Sarayū which erases the impurities of the Kali age. And again I salute the men and women of that city — for whom the Lord’s affection is far from small.
हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं अति पावन अवधपुरी की वन्दना करता हूँ, और सरयू नदी को भी — जो कलियुग के कलुष (मल) का नाश करती है। फिर उस पुरी के नर-नारियों को प्रणाम करता हूँ — जिन पर प्रभु की ममता कम नहीं है।
