सेष सहस्त्रसीस जग कारन। जो अवतरेउ भूमि भय टारन॥
सदा सो सानुकूल रह मो पर। कृपासिंधु सौमित्रि गुनाकर॥
seṣa sahastrasīsa jaga kārana, jo avatareu bhūmi bhaya ṭārana |
sadā so sānukūla raha mo para, kṛpāsiṁdhu saumitri gunākara ||
English Rendering
The thousand-headed Śeṣa — the cause of the world — who came down to remove the earth’s burden of fear: may that Sumitrā-son, that ocean of grace and mine of virtues, be forever favourable to me.

शेष — सहस्र-मस्तक वाले, जगत के कारण — जो पृथ्वी के भय को दूर करने के लिए अवतरित हुए। वे सदा मुझ पर अनुकूल रहें — कृपासिन्धु सौमित्रि (लक्ष्मण) — गुणों की खान।
Context — Editorial
The theological identification is quiet but complete. Lakṣmaṇa is Śeṣa — the thousand-headed serpent on whom Viṣṇu rests. The one who supports the whole world; the one who now, in avatar, supports his elder brother.
