कपिपति रीछ निसाचर राजा। अंगदादि जे कीस समाजा॥
बंदउँ सब के चरन सुहाए। अधम सरीर राम जिन्ह पाए॥
kapipati rīcha nisācara rājā, aṁgadādi je kīsa samājā |
baṁdaũ saba ke carana suhāe, adhama sarīra rāma jinha pāe ||
English Rendering
The monkey-king (Sugrīva), the bear-lord (Jāmbavān), the rākṣasa-king (Vibhīṣaṇa), and all the monkey assembly beginning with Aṅgada — I bow at all their lovely feet, for even in lowly bodies they attained Rāma.

कपिपति (सुग्रीव), ऋक्ष-राज (जाम्बवान्), निशाचर-राज (विभीषण), और अंगद आदि सारा वानर-समाज — इन सबके सुहाने चरणों की वन्दना करता हूँ; क्योंकि अधम शरीर में जन्म लेकर भी इन्होंने श्रीराम को पाया।
Context — Editorial
The most radical verse of the vandanā. The formal invocation ranks include not just gods, kings, and brothers, but monkeys, bears, and rākṣasas — one of them the enemy’s brother. In lowly bodies, they attained Rāma. Every subsequent claim of caste-superiority in the poem is quietly disarmed by this line.
