महामंत्र जोइ जपत महेसू। कासीं मुकुति हेतु उपदेसू॥
महिमा जासु जान गनराउ। प्रथम पूजिअत नाम प्रभाऊ॥
mahāmaṁtra joi japata mahesū, kāsī̃ mukuti hetu upadesū |
mahimā jāsu jāna ganarāu, prathama pūjiata nāma prabhāū ||
English Rendering
It is the great mantra that Maheśa himself chants — the very teaching he gives at Kāśī for liberation. Its glory is known by Gaṇapati — through the power of the Name, he is worshipped first.

यह वह महामन्त्र है जिसे स्वयं महेश (शिव) जपते हैं — काशी में मुक्ति के हेतु जिसका उपदेश करते हैं। इसकी महिमा को गणराज (गणेश) जानते हैं — नाम के प्रभाव से ही वे सर्वप्रथम पूजित होते हैं।
