नर नारायन सरिस सुभ्राता। जग पालक बिसेषि जन त्राता॥
भगति सुतिय कल करन बिभूषन। जग हित हेतु बिमल बिधु पूषन॥
nara nārāyana sarisa subhrātā, jaga pālaka biseṣi jana trātā |
bhagati sutiya kala karana bibhūṣana, jaga hita hetu bimala bidhu pūṣana ||
English Rendering
Like Nara and Nārāyaṇa, the two are noble brothers — protectors of the world, saviours especially of their own people. They are the beautiful ear-ornaments of devotion, personified as a chaste wife — and for the sake of the world, they are the pure moon and sun.

नर-नारायण के समान दोनों शुभ भ्राता हैं — जगत के पालक, विशेषकर भक्तों के रक्षक। भक्ति रूपी सुतिया (सती नारी) के मनोहर कर्ण-आभूषण; जगत के हित के लिए वे विमल चन्द्रमा और सूर्य हैं।

The two letters keep changing shape as Tulsīdās looks at them. Now they are Nara-Nārāyaṇa. Now they are earrings on a bhakti-personified woman. Now they are sun and moon over the world. Every register at once.
