हरि हर जस राकेस राहु से। पर अकाज भट सहसबाहु से॥
जे पर दोष लखहिं सहसाखी। परहित घृत जिन्ह के मन माखी॥
hari hara jasa rākesa rāhu se, para akāja bhaṭa sahasabāhu se |
je para doṣa lakhahiṁ sahasākhī, parahita ghṛta jinha ke mana mākhī ||
English Rendering
To the full-moon glory of Hari and Hara they are a Rāhu; in ruining another’s work they are warriors like the thousand-armed Sahasrabāhu. They see another’s faults with a thousand eyes; and their mind is a fly for the ghee of another’s good fortune.

हरि (विष्णु) और हर (शिव) के यश-रूपी पूर्ण चन्द्र पर वे राहु के समान हैं; पराया काम बिगाड़ने में सहस्रबाहु जैसे योद्धा हैं। वे दूसरों के दोष हज़ार आँखों से देखते हैं — और उनका मन दूसरों के भले-रूपी घी पर मक्खी के समान बैठा रहता है।

Four devastating similes in eight half-lines. Note the sharpness of the last: the wicked mind is a fly on ghee — spoiling by mere contact something meant to nourish. Tulsīdās has taken the ordinary insulting figure and given it perfect metrical dignity.
