प्रभु पद प्रीति न सामुझि नीकी। तिन्हहि कथा सुनि लागहि फीकी॥
हरि हर पद रति मति न कुतरकी। तिन्ह कहुँ मधुर कथा रघुवर की॥
prabhu pada prīti na sāmujhi nīkī, tinhahi kathā suni lāgahi phīkī |
hari hara pada rati mati na kutarakī, tinha kahũ madhura kathā raghuvara kī ||
English Rendering
To those without love for the Lord’s feet and without sound understanding, this story will taste flat. To those who love Hari’s feet and Hara’s feet, whose minds do not run on false reasoning, the tale of Raghuvara will be sweet.

जिनके मन में प्रभु के चरणों में प्रेम नहीं और सम्यक् समझ भी नहीं — उन्हें यह कथा सुनकर फीकी लगेगी। जिन्हें हरि और हर दोनों के चरणों में रति है और जिनकी बुद्धि कुतर्क में नहीं फँसती — उनके लिए रघुवर की कथा मधुर है।
