गिरा अरथ जल बीचि सम, कहिअत भिन्न न भिन्न।
बंदउँ सीता राम पद, जिन्हहि परम प्रिय खिन्न॥18॥
girā aratha jala bīci sama, kahiata bhinna na bhinna |
baṁdaũ sītā rāma pada, jinhahi parama priya khinna ||18||
English Rendering
Speech and its meaning are like water and its wave — spoken of as different and yet not different. I bow to the feet of Sītā and Rāma, to whom the afflicted are supremely dear.
हिन्दी अनुवाद
वाणी और अर्थ — जल और लहर के समान — कहने को भिन्न, वस्तुतः भिन्न नहीं। मैं सीता-राम के चरणों की वन्दना करता हूँ — जिन्हें दुःखी (खिन्न) अत्यन्त प्रिय हैं।
Context — Editorial
One of the most-quoted couplets of the whole Manas. The doctrine is metaphysical — Śakti and Śaktimān are one — but the illustration is a river-image any villager would recognise. And the final line is the one to remember: khinna — the afflicted — are what Sītā-Rāma love most.
