उदासीन अरि मीत हित, सुनत जरहिं खल रीति।
जानि पानि जुग जोरि जन, बिनती करइ सप्रीति॥
udāsīna ari mīta hita, sunata jarahiṁ khala rīti |
jāni pāni juga jori jana, binatī karai saprīti ||
English Rendering
Hearing of good — to the neutral, to the enemy, to the friend, without distinction — the wicked burn: such is their custom. Knowing this well, this servant nonetheless folds both hands and offers his petition with love.

तटस्थ, शत्रु, या मित्र — किसी की भी भलाई सुनते ही खल जल उठते हैं, यह उनकी रीति है। यह जानते हुए भी, यह जन (तुलसीदास) दोनों हाथ जोड़कर उन्हें प्रीति से विनती करता है।
Context — Editorial
The dohā that closes the khala-vandanā. Tulsīdās has just spent five stanzas on the wicked — and yet the closing gesture is not to condemn them but to fold both hands to them. That mixture of clear sight and unbroken courtesy is the very definition of the Manas’s moral tone.
