Bāla Kāṇḍa·Dohā 5·D.5
bhalo bhalāihi pai lahai, lahai nicāihi nīcu | sudhā sarāhiya amaratā, garala sarāhiya mīcu ||
English Rendering

The good one arrives at goodness; the base one, only at baseness. Nectar is praised for granting deathlessness; poison, for granting death.

Context — Editorial

The dohā closes the good-vs-wicked meditation with a sharp couplet of poetic justice. Each thing is praised for its own effect; no one praises poison for anything but killing.
